What does it involve?

Gum disease begins with bleeding, swollen gums (gingivitis) and, if untreated, progresses by destroying the bone that holds the teeth (periodontitis), until the teeth become loose and are lost. It is the main cause of tooth loss in adults and is also linked to general conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems.

Our periodontist carries out a full periodontal study and a treatment in stages: deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), treatment of periodontal pockets and, when necessary, periodontal surgery or regeneration. We then set up a maintenance programme so that the disease does not return.
